Obituary: Frances Peacock

Frances Elizabeth Peacock, 85, of Carson City died July 29, 2003, at Evergreen Care Center. She was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Ventura, Calif., to Frank and Bessie Dickerson Williams.

She graduated from Oxnard High School in 1935.

She married William R. Peacock May 30, 1941, in Carson City.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Oxnard and Ventura, before moving to Ojai, Calif., for 50 years.

Mrs. Peacock worked for the city of Oxnard water department, the state of California and Ventura County for 38 years. She enjoyed traveling, volunteer work, playing bridge, and going to plays and the symphony. She also enjoyed reading mysteries.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years.

Among her survivors are her brother and sister-in-law, Thomas V. and Laura Williams of Gardnerville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
