Forest Service is seeking

Those opportunities are located in the North Shore area (Between Brockway Summit and Tahoe City) of the Lake Tahoe Basin on National Forest Lands.

There would be 23 miles of LTBMU roads available for groomed snowmobile routes, allowing up to 142 snowmobile trips per day, including guides.

Up to three outfitter-guide permits may be issued to provide services starting in the winter of 2003-2004.

Grooming would be the responsibility of the operators(s).

Staging sites are not available on National Forest Lands.

Operators must secure permission from private landowners to stage and access Forest Road No. 73.

To be further considered, interested parties must submit the following by Sept. 22, 3003:

1. Summary of experience in operating a groomed snowmobile touring company.

2. Current Business Plan.

3. Proof of ownership or contract to purchase or lease snowmobiles -- include the quantity and type (i.e. two or four cycle).

5.. Proof of insurance or ability to obtain insurance.

5. Proof of permission to use private land for staging operations and access onto Forest Road No. 73.
