Carson High's Ricky Correlli and Galena's Joanna Hixon were among the top local players who were honored on the all-Northern 4A basketball teams.
Correlli was named to the all-Northern 4A first team in boys basketball while Hixon was named as the High Desert League's Player of the Year and to the all-region first team in girls basketball. Galena's Derek Lorenzen was also named to the all-Northern 4A and all-High Desert League boys basketball first teams while Douglas High's Emily Haas was named to the all-region girls basketball first team.
Carson's Katie Kotter was named to the all-region girls basketball second team while Douglas High's Nick Summers was named to the all-region boys basketball second team.
Reno High's David Padgett was named as the Northern 4A and Sierra League Player of the Year. Joining Padgett on the all-Sierra League first team were Correlli, Wooster's Julian Hatcher and Joey Golaw, Douglas High's Nick Summers, South Tahoe's Curtis Johnson and Hug's Mitchell Moore.
Carson's Ryan Henry and Ed Jaquette were named to the second team. Carson's Gary Borst and Andy Bohm and Douglas High's Andy McIntosh and Luke Rippee were all honorable mention choices.
Carson's Bruce Barnes was the Sierra League Coach of the Year and the Northern 4A co-Coach of the Year with Elko's Chris Klekas.
In girls basketball, Carson's Talia Joyce joined Kotter and Haas on the all-Sierra League first team. Carson's Ciarra Christian and Douglas High's Julie Gingrich and Erin Brinkmeyer were second team choices. Carson's Tabitha Adams was an honorable mention choice.
Carson's Paul Croghan was chosen as the Sierra League's co-Coach of the Year with Wooster's Mike Anderson.
In High Desert League girls basketball, Caitlin Anderson was named to the second team. In High Desert League boys basketball, Galena's Dalton Turnbow and Tommy Myers were named to the second team.
