Christian Sierra League Player of Year

Carson High's Ciarra Christian has been rewarded for an outstanding career by being named as the Sierra League's Player of the Year and to the all-Northern 4A first team in girls basketball this season.

The Senators' point guard is among several Carson Country players who were named to the all-Northern 4A first team. For the girls, Christian was joined by teammate Katie Kotter, Douglas High's Erin Brinkmeyer and Galena's Caitlin Anderson.

For the boys, Galena's Derek Lorenzen was joined by Douglas High freshman Keith Olson on the all-Northern 4A first team.

Named to the all-Northern 4A second team for the girls were Douglas High's Brittany Puzey and Galena's Caitlin Crofts. For the boys, Douglas High's Nick Summers was named to the all-Northern 4A second team.

Kotter and Brinkmeyer joined Christian on the all-Sierra League first team. Carson's Tabitha Adams and Nicole Scott and the Tigers' Julie Gingrich were named to the second team. Honorable mention choices were Carson's Andrea Hoff and the Tigers' Tammy Gough.

Anderson and Crofts were all-High Desert League first team choices. Galena's Dominique Pavich received honorable mention.

For the boys, Carson's Rory Wunsch joined Olson and Summers on the Sierra League first team. Carson's Jefrf Hurzel and the Tigers's Luke Rippee and Eric Emm made the second team. Honorable mention choices were Carson's Jason Alcasas, Brian Welch and Kyle Bacon and the Tigers' Chris Honer.

Lorenzen was all-High Desert first team. Also for Galena, Iain Hill made the second team and Bobby Contreras and Ryan Bristol were honorable mention.
