ST. JOSEPH'S 65, GALENA BOYS 30

The Galena boys basketball team just ran out of gas on its road trip to California in its loss to a talented St. Joseph's team of Alameda.

Galena was coming off wins against Nevada Union and St. Francis. But St. Joseph's jumped out to a 12-1 lead against the Grizzlies.

"I think we're just burned out," Galena coach Tom Maurer said. "St. Joseph's really played extremely well, extremely aggressive. They're very physical. We couldn't knock down anything."

Sophomore Derek Lorenzen scored 12 points for Galena, which opens league play on Tuesday at Fallon.
