Five-year Carson City resident Nancy Ellen Purcell died Jan. 9, 2003, in Carson City. She was 89.
Mrs. Purcell was born May 29, 1913, in Erick, Okla., to Lewis and Emma Holland Smith. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and had a rose garden at home.
Prior to living in Carson City, Mrs. Purcell lived at Topaz Ranch Estates. She was a homemaker and a member of the Airport Road Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cordis Purcell in 1978 and a son Richard Purcell in 1988.
Among her survivors are her daughter Charlene Todd of Grenola, Kan.; a sister Sybil Kinenon of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
