Lamborn and Bozin strong in wrestling

Travis Lamborn and Robbie Bozin, both Eagle Valley Middle School eighth graders, had strong performances over the weekend at the Louis Pasteur Middle School Wrestling Tournament in Orangevale, Calif.


Lamborn won the title at 142 pounds while Bozin placed second at 103. Lamborn won 6-0 in the finals while Bozin lost a close 2-0 decision in the finals.


There were more than 600 middle school wrestlers who participated. Both wrestle for the Carson Bulldogs youth wrestling club and are wrestling out of state to prepare for the National Middle School Wrestling Championships to be held April 11-13 in Norfolk, Va.


Lamborn also recently placed second at the Marina Village Tournament in El Dorado Hills, Calif. In the finals, Lamborn lost 4-2 in overtime to the 2002 California state champion, Louis Bland.
