Obituary: Ernest Potter Ames

Ernest Potter Ames, 73, a Gardnerville resident for the past six years, died March 6, 2003, at his home. He was born Oct. 7, 1929, in Belpre, Ohio, to Arthur and Clara Coffman Ames.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Las Vegas.

Mr. Ames retired after 30 years in the U.S. Navy and worked for the TRW aerospace company in Redondo Beach, Calif., for 20 years. He belonged to the Masons for 50 years.

Among his survivors are his wife, Lois of Gardnerville; daughters Lisa Korick of Norco, Calif., Karla VonSeelon of Las Vegas and Kim Coates of Gardnerville; and grandchildren Travis and Adam Korick of Norco and Amanda Coates of Gardnerville.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
