A memorial service for Ruth Lorenz, 60, a Carson City resident for the past 12 years, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Carson City.
Mrs. Lorenz died March 8, 2003, in Carson City. She was born May 6, 1942, in Oklahoma to Charles and Mary Staggs Ballard.
She married Monroe Harjo. He preceded her in death in 2002 in Glendale, Calif.
In Glendale, Mrs. Lorenz worked at a worldwide religious radio station, to which listeners mailed Bible lessons then she evaluated them and returned them in the mail.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Carson City. She enjoyed studying the Bible and helping people.
Among her survivors are her daughter, Sedonna Reith of Carson City; brother, Charles Ballard of Yucaipa, Calif.; and grandchildren Tarron and Trace Evans.
Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
