I have had one of those amazing weeks. It must be something to do with St. Patrick's Day!
I received a thank-you from Betty Razor, president of the Nevada Nurses Association. She said, "We live in a wonderful community of loving and caring people." Her statement sums up this town perfectly.
Thank you all for the numerous donations to help the nurses put together more than 65 boxes of all types of goodies for children and a Hug-a-Bear handmade by the Nevada Bell Pioneers Group. With everyone's efforts, these "keepsake treasure boxes" will be distributed throughout Carson and Douglas for children in need during Easter week.
I also want to thank Capitol City Loans owner Bill Burnaugh for asking Super Kmart again to help local children. I will miss Kmart and the all the wonderful ways they have helped the community. I truly appreciate this last effort in providing a special discount on 200 pairs of shoes and 25 new jackets, which Mr. Burnaugh purchased for needy children. If your child needs a coat or jacket, please call me at 283-2053.
