Drivers will no longer be allowed to park at the curbside at Reno/Tahoe International Airport to wait for arriving passengers, officials announced Tuesday.

In order to enhance existing security measures, vehicles will no longer be permitted to park and wait, but active loading and unloading will still be allowed, according to airport spokesman Adam Mayberry.

Drivers will be asked to use the airport's parking lots or make continuous loops on the airport's roadways until passengers arrive.

The traveling public is asked to assist the airport by reporting any unattended baggage or suspicious activity to airport police or other airline personnel, Mayberry said.

No vehicle inspections are in place unless vehicles are larger than 6-feet, 6-inches and entering the parking structure.

Passengers are encouraged to arrive at least 90 minutes before their flight leaves, or two hours before an international flight. For information, visit www.renoairport.com
