Ruth B. Ambler, 81, a Wellington resident for the past 24 years, died May 14, 2003, in Mountain View Care Center. She was born April 15, 1922, in Huntington Park, Calif., to Alfred Clyde and Ruth Naomi Casteel Beardslee.
She married Frank I. Ambler Jr. March 14, 1947, in Compton, Calif.
Before moving to Wellington, she lived in Whittier, Calif.
Mrs. Ambler was a homemaker and had been a pattern maker for the Hollywood Premier Dress Factory. She loved sewing, traveling and camping. She was a member and one of the first presidents of the Sagehens of Topaz Ranch Estates and she was a Methodist.
Among her survivors are her husband of Wellington; daughters Elizabeth A. Groendyke of Richland, Wash., and Priscilla J. Engeman of Temple City, Calif.; sister, Barbara Silberling of Palo Alto, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
