Results due back today of the bloodstained clothing of a 3-year-old Carson City boy found abandoned in Dayton on Nov. 10 will not be made public, the Carson City sheriff said Wednesday.

"We have to wait for everything that's been submitted to the lab to come back in order for us to do an analysis of all the evidence," Kenny Furlong said Wednesday night. "I will not comment on the clothing evidence or any forensic results at all."

Bertha Anguiano, 33, has been missing since her son Andrew was found at 9:30 a.m. with a superficial head wound wandering behind the Smith's grocery store in Dayton some 15 miles from his Woodside Drive home.

The toddler told police a man named "Juan" hit him and his mother with a "stick," and his mother was dead.

Anguiano, a married mother of three, was last seen about 8 a.m. talking in the parking lot of Empire Elementary School with an unidentified man. She failed to make a deposit of $3,700 into her bank account that morning and open her video store, La Casita Video, on Woodside Drive.

Investigators suspect Anguiano may have been having an extramarital affair with Juan Carlos Tellez. He was last seen Nov. 10 around 11:30 a.m. outside a Fallon motel room, where he'd been staying since Nov. 7.

Furlong said he has been forthcoming with information about Tellez and Anguiano in an attempt to garner leads in the case, but any forensic testing results would do nothing to help the public locate them.

He also declined to comment on any new developments in the case, saying only, "we don't want to put misleading information out. We won't comment on anything right now."

Tellez is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo on his back left shoulder which reads, "Cry now smile later," a peacock on his right shoulder and a three-leaf clover and heart on his chest.

Anguiano is 5 feet tall, weighing 110 pounds with dark brown hair and brown eyes.
