A service for Idelle Shields, longtime resident of Carson City, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Mountain Street.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Shields died Sept. 27, 2003, after a long illness. She was born in Menomonie, Wis., to Henry and Jennie Kraft.
She attended public schools in Mondovi, Wis., and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
She later served with merit in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps, retiring with the rank of major.
She married Edward Shields in 1969, and they moved to Carson City.
She was an active member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Charles and Paul Kraft.
Among her survivors are her husband of 34 years and sister Velma Diller; sister-in-law Phyllis Kraft and nieces and nephews, all of Wisconsin and many friends in Carson City.
Burial will be at Walton's Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
