Carson athletes honored by NIAA

Three Carson High athletes were honored as NIAA/Chevron High Performance Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 4.


Allie Otto in girls soccer, Mike Dittenber in football and Natalie Rogers in tennis were all honored for Carson.


Otto, a sophomore, made 11 saves, including several outstanding saves, in Carson's 3-1 win over Douglas last week. Rogers, a senior, rolled to a 5-0 record in matches last week against South Tahoe and Damonte Ranch and now has a 21-4 record on the season. Dittenber, a senior, completed 10-of-12 passes for 211 yards and four touchdowns in the Senators' 47-0 win over North Valleys.


Among other Carson Country athletes to be honored this season was Dayton High's Justin Cross in football.


Cross ran wildly in the Dust Devils' opener, rushing for 201 yards and three scores on 10 carries in Dayton's 52-7 win over Incline.
