Douglas soccer falls to Truckee

The Douglas High soccer team rested its starters for the most part in a nonleague loss to 3A power Truckee on Wednesday.


The Tigers lost 3-0 to fall to 8-4-1. Defender Justin Norvelle and forward Trent Hennessy-York played well and Chase Zumpft made eight saves for Douglas, which plays at 1 p.m. Saturday at home against North Valleys.

Truckee scored twice in the last 10 minutes to win the junior varsity game. Michael Barnes scored on a penalty kick in the first half for Douglas. Michael Gransbery and Nick Cohee played well at midfield and stopper Derik Cantley also played well for Douglas.
