A memorial service for Valerie N. Thompson, 60, a Minden resident for the past 19 years, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Thompson died Sept. 14, 2003, at home. She was born Dec. 20, 1942, in Hollywood, Calif., to Ripley and Helen Deroule Baylies.
Before moving to Minden, she lived in Orange, Calif.
Mrs. Thompson's interests were automobile research and automobile consumer advocacy. She was a Catholic.
Among her survivors are her companion, T. Willie Hutchins of Minden; son, Neil Thompson of Newport Beach, Calif.; and grandchildren Olivia and Nicholas Thompson of Elko.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
