The Lady Senators softball team would like to forget the first three innings of its game against Fallon Thursday afternoon at the Ed Arciniega Athletic Complex.

The Lady 'Wave became the Senators' nightmare by taking advantage of five errors that led to the 8-2 non league win.

Carson drops to 9-10 overall while Fallon sits at 14-12. Amber Smith picked up the win by pitching a complete game while Lindsay Farnworth took the loss. Carson's ace, Mandy Carvin, pitched two innings but couldn't finish because of injury.

"We all produced and everyone hit the ball hard," said Fallon coach Tami Peel. "We were mentally prepared and confident in playing well as a team."

Carson coach Scott Vickrey stressed the importance of his team's errors against a good ball club.

"The errors magnified the weaknesses we have," said Vickrey. "Fallon plays good ball."

Fallon wasted no time in scoring in the first inning as Anne Mackedon slid home under the tag on Michelle Beach's single up the middle. Lindie Jo Gardner lined a single under Farnworth's legs for Fallon's second run.

Robyn Conn reached base on an error in the third inning for the Senators, stole a base, and scored on Beach's error at shortstop. Fallon led 2-1 before adding a three spot to the scoreboard in the bottom of the inning.

Gardner ripped a line drive over the third base bag to bring in Beach and Korey Ellis, and Gardner later scored on a sacrifice fly from Bethany Ellis to give the Lady 'Wave a 5-1 lead.

Both teams battled back and forth defensively in which Smith and Carvin handcuffed their respective opposition.

Fallon added three more runs in the sixth frame with an RBI single each from Korey Ellis, Smith and Kristin Drinnon. Liz Rankl drove in Carson's second run of the game in the seventh inning and finished the day by leading her team with two hits.
