Crime Report

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Donald George Mendez, 41, a limo driver from South Lake Tahoe, was arrested on a South Lake Tahoe Superior Court warrant for suspicion of felony fugitive from justice. No bail was set.

• Julia Rigutto, 23, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 8:42 p.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Lone Mountain Road on suspicion of felony probation violation and misdemeanor battery. No bail was set.

• Jon Phillip Simas, 26, a transient framer, was arrested at 11:28 p.m. Saturday at Fifth Street and Saliman Road on suspicion of felony probation violation. No bail was set.

• Deputies responded to the following calls:

• A mother had her children, ages 9 and 10, arrested after she caught them smoking Sunday at 2:47 p.m.

• A man seen panhandling in front of a business in the 500 block of East William Street pulled a knife on an employee when asked to leave Monday at 9:59 p.m. The man was arrested.

• A former jail inmate reported at 10 a.m. Monday his car was burglarized in the 4500 block of South Carson Street while he was in custody.
