A funeral for Cecilia Isabel Margaret Wood, 84, a Carson City and Silver Springs resident for the past 28 years, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.
Mrs. Wood died Dec. 4, 2004, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Sussex, England, to Emanuel and Lucy Harris Sant.
She attended St. Elizabeth High School and Holy Names Music Conservatory, both in Oakland, Calif.
She married Wallace Wood Sept. 20, 1943, in Oakland.
He preceded her in death in 1994 in Carson City.
Before moving to this area, she lived in Hyampom, Calif., and Oakland.
She was a well-known pipe organist who played for many civic functions.
She was a music teacher and worked for Penny Saver in Carson City for 17 years.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She was a member of the Christian Science Church and organist for the church until 2001.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Ron after whom the Ronald Woods Children's Home was named; and six brothers and sisters.
Among her survivors are her sons Michael of Carson City and Mark of South Lake Tahoe; son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Jocelyn of Dayton; sister and brother-in-law Judy and Sid Ancar of Castro Valley, Calif.; daughters Susan Wood of Sebastopol, Calif., Gretchen Wood of Silver Springs and Jane Christopher of Carson City; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
