A graveside service for Louella E. Kostner, 78, a Carson City resident since 1962, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Empire Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Mrs. Kostner died Sept. 7, 2006, in Carson City. She was born Oct. 18, 1927, to Louis and Mary Annie Nocar in Maryland.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Montara, Calif.

She was a homemaker and a Catholic.

She enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her son Daniel Ackerman in 1968; brother, Louis Nocar; and sister Josephine Richards.

Among her survivors are her son and daughter-in-law Lucky and CeCe of Homer, Alaska; sons Cecil and Bernard Ackerman, both of Napa, Calif.; daughter Marsha Bowers of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Cecilia and Edward Salas of Carson City; sister Patricia Cool of Brooksville, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
