A funeral for Wilma Mae McKenzie Mason, 86, a Carson City resident for the past 56 years, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' C-Hill Chapel.

Mrs. Mason died Feb. 19, 2004, in Camp Verde, Ariz. She was born May 13, 1917, in Little Woody, Saskatchewan, Canada, to William and Minnie Bliven Sawusch.

She married Harold McKenzie. He preceded her in 1976, after 43 years of marriage.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Blaine, Wash.

Mrs. Mason retired from Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She previously worked for the Carson City School District. She was a member of the LDS church in Carson City for 28 years and of the Carson City Homemakers Club for 45 years. She enjoyed many hobbies, including arts and crafts and painting.

Among her survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law Darlene and Allen Destree of Camp Verde, Dolores and Bob Wyman of Rimrock, Ariz., and Vicki and Bill McConnell of Carson City; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
