Donna Rae Cornu, 65, died July 6, 2004, in Orofino, Idaho. She was born March 26, 1939, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Frank and Ruby Johnson Hankins.
She graduated from Mineral County High School in Hawthorne in 1957.
She married Robert Robinson May 9, 1958, in Hawthorne. They divorced in 1961. She married Bert Cornu Dec. 3, 1961, in Carson City.
Mrs. Cornu was a waitress after high school then attended dealers' school to become a blackjack dealer at Harrah's at Lake Tahoe. She later dealt at the Sahara Tahoe and the Golden Nugget in Carson City.
She moved to Idaho in 1979, and lived in Fraser, mostly at the Thornton Ranch. She was a member of the Thornton Grange. She later moved to Orofino, where she was a checker at Barney's grocery store. She enjoyed canning and being with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her half-brother Wayne Hankins and sisters Cathy Steffler and JoAnn Black.
Among her survivors are her husband of Orofino; sons and daughters-in-law Danny and Christy Robinson of Carson City and Joe and Tara Cornu of Cave Creek, Ariz.; stepdaughters Lisa Adams of Reno and Teresa Thayer and Donna Clancy, both of Madera, Calif.; sister, Debbie Shroder of Boise, Idaho; half-sister, Jackie Grasser of Twin Falls; nine grandchildren; and one-great-grandson.
A memorial service was held at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel.
