A hearing has been set for a Mason Valley couple charged in the sexual assault of a male relative.

Barbara and Ronald Biddleman will appear in Mason Valley Justice Court on March 22 for a pretrial conference to set a date for their preliminary hearing. Both have been charged with sexual assault and incest. They were arrested Feb. 22. Both posted $5,000 bails.

Ronald Biddleman, 40, allegedly told his wife, Barbara, 39, to have sex with the adult family member.

The incident happened on Nov. 27 at the family's River Avenue home in Mason, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mason Valley Justice Court on Feb. 17.

Barbara Biddleman is charged with having sex and Ronald Biddleman allegedly aided, abetted, encouraged, directed and watched.

The Biddlemans "did willfully and unlawfully force" the victim to have sex, when they knew "the victim was mentally incapable of resisting or understanding the nature of his conduct," Detective Cherie Rye wrote in a complaint.

Rye, of the Lyon County Sheriff's Department, said the victim came forward to police following the alleged incident.
