Carson Middle School sweeps title

Carson Middle School's seventh and eighth grade wrestling teams swept the titles at th Pau-Wa-Lu Invitational held at Douglas High.

Carson's eighth grade team edged Fallon for the crown, finishing with 228 points to Fallon's 221 points. Pau-Wa-Lu was third (143) and was followed by Yerington (127) and Eagle Valley (120) in fifth.

Carson's seventh graders ran away with the title with 238 points. Carson was followed by Incline (147), Fallon (88), Eagle Valley (81) and Yerington (72). Eight schools competed in the tournament.

Six eighth graders and four seventh graders won titles for Carson. Eighth graders who won titles were: 90 pounds - Todd Banko; 105 - Doug Lipka; 120 - Nathan James; 130 - Aaron Jolcover; 140 - Garrett Truesdale; heavyweight - Felipe Segura.

Seventh graders who won titles were: 85 - Brett Valley; 95 - Juan Arellano; 100 - Casey Good; 110 - Matt Parmenter.

Other eighth graders who placed were: Second - Chris Brown, 95; James Block, 100; Hunter Santillo, 130; Dan Faiella, 140; Frank Urbani, heavyweight. Third - Dan Jacobsen, 95; Dan Bass, 160. Fourth - Markus Adams, 110; Matt Scott, 115; Chad Plattsmier, 100; Curtis Keirnan, 135.

Other seventh graders who placed were: Second - Nick Schlager, 75; Bradon Patterson, 90; Ryan Davies, 105; Justin Greg, 125; Brandon Workman, 135; A.J. Evans, heavyweight. Third - Anthony Cornell, 110; Brandon Briggs, 120; Jamie Gooch, 135. Fourth - Tanner Rust, 120; Andrew Ortiz, 145; Aaron Server, 165.
