Pack fans still proud

ST. LOUIS - They came in all shapes and size, all ages. Most wore blue and some even painted their faces.

They had one purpose in mind - cheer the Wolf Pack basketball to another upset in the NCAA tournament.

Unfortunately Georgia Tech sent the Wolf Pack to a 72-67 loss before a crowd of 30, 801 at the Edward Jones Dome in the St. Louis Regional Friday night

"This was a devastating loss," said Wolf Pack fan Leroy Hardy of Reno. "We'll probably head home tomorrow (if we can change our tickets). We'll be crying in our beer tonight. It was quite a rush.

"This was good for Northern Nevada and the university. We'll be back."

Another Wolf Pack fan, Mary Ellen McMullen, said she was proud of the team and what it accomplished.

"I think Nevada gave Georgia Tech a run for its money," she said, a disappointed look on her face. "We were a little off in our scoring tonight. They have a lot to be proud of.

"This was very exciting; the experience of a lifetime. There is always next year. We will be back."
