Kathryn Baldrige Bullock Fitch, 93, a Douglas County resident for the past three years and former Reno resident for 45 years, died March 28, 2004, in Gardnerville. She was born March 2, 1911, in Belefonte, Pa.

She was a career Army officer's wife and traveled much of the world. She enjoyed reading and attended courses in journalism at the University of Denver and University of Nevada, Reno. She was the founder and editor of the 'Fitz-Bitz" at Fitzsimons General Hospital in Denver.

From 1957-59, she was the society editor of the Okinawa Morning Star News and wrote "Social Whirl - by Kay Fitch." She was involved with women's clubs, especially coordinating fashion shows. She was chairwoman and official hostess of a luncheon and fashion show given to honor Mamie Eisenhower.

She was a member of the DAR, Eastern Star and Republican Women's clubs. While in Reno-Sparks, she was a member of the 20th Century Club, the Opera Guild and the Community Concert Association. She enjoyed playing bridge and social and casino activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Henry B. Fitch on Jan. 21, 1979; and son Henry B. Fitch Jr. on Dec. 27, 1994.

Among her survivors are her son Col. John Fitch of Hollister, Calif.; daughters Peggy Clemmer of Las Vegas and Susan Spencer of Sunridge; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no service.

Inurnment will be with her husband in the Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C.
