Senators qualify for swim finals

Ten Carson High swimmers qualified for today's 4A regional finals scheduled for Carson Aquatic Center.,

Jake Oxoby (50 free, 100 fly), John Wandel (100 free, 200 free), Rebekah Niehoff (200 free, 500 free) and Kiel Costella (500 free, 200 IM) all qualified in two events, according to Misty Harris, the Senators' assistant coach.

Jamie Engan qualified first in the 500 free, and she was followed by Neihoff and Lauren Metcalf. Harris said the Senators have a shot at sweeping the event.

Katie Wandel (50 free), Jessica Goddard (100 fly), Jeff Stroup (500 free) and Hillary Schlager (100 breast) qualified in one event apiece.

Diving starts at 10 a.m. at the Carson Valley Swim Center in Minden. Swimming starts at 2 p.m. at the Carson Aquatic Center.
