Fred G. Lom, a longtime resident of South Lake Tahoe and Carson City, died May 17, 2004, at Park Ridge Skilled Nursing Center in Shoreline, Wash., from complications of a stroke.

He was born June 7, 1937, in Green Bay, Wis., to Darrell and Katherine Lom.

He moved from Oakland, Calif., to South Lake Tahoe in 1969 where he managed the Emerald Bay Road office of the California State Automobile Association for 15 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club and an avid motorcycle enthusiast.

Mr. Lom was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Shauna.

Among his survivors are his daughters Adrian Duemling of Kirkland, Wash. and Keaven Van Lom of Nashville, Tenn. and siblings Tom Lom of Tampa, Fla., Margaret Rasmussen of Roscoe, Ill. and Nick Lom of Green Bay.

Family at various locations will hold private memorial Masses.

Memorial contributions may be made to an animal advocacy group of choice.
