Brandon Griffith, a 2000 Douglas High graduate, had a huge day, but it wasn't enough for the NAIA Southern Oregon football team in a 56-34 loss to Linfield of Oregon, the nation's No. 2 team in Division III.
Southern Oregon (3-4) silenced the standing-room-only Wildcat Homecoming crowd by taking a 24-12 lead midway through the second quarter after the third Griffith-to-Bobby Poeltl scoring connection.
It was a career--best effort for Griffith, a senior, as he went 21-of-37 for 311 yards and four touchdowns.
