The Carson Senators Junior Pee Wee Blue Pop Warner football team improved its record to 3-0 by beating Truckee 33-0.

"This defense continues to impress me week in and week out" defensive coordinator Steve Sawyers stated. "We still have some work, but I am pretty happy with what I've seen."

"The way these kids fly to the ball and gang tackle is a testament to their love for the game" defensive coach Eddy Brown added.

The Senators defense is lead by Taylor Anderson, Sam Blei, Austin Brown, Rodney Calhoun, Levi Carter, Cole Dufresne, Alex Eddy, Tony Fondi, Cody Hammond, Patrick Hesse, Willy McDonald, Austin Pacheco, Logan Peternell, Gabriel Pongasi, Chance Quilling, Dylan Sawyers, Kurtis Scull, Andrew Toland, Zach White and Joseph Zinda. The Senators defense only allowed four first downs while posting its third consecutive shutout. Peternell was also credited for having two blocked punts.

Carson's offense, not to be outshined by the defense, also had a fabulous night. Sawyers continued his touchdown prowess by scoring four touchdowns and Brandon Akers rounded out the scoring by gathering his first touchdown of the year and putting the Senators up for good. Scoring the extra points for the Senators were Patrick Craugh, Zinda and Pacheco, who caught a perfectly thrown ball from quarterback Colin McColloch. Providing the gaping holes and giving their quarterbacks time to throw were Keegan Aiazzi, John Borges, Keith Collier, Alex Crathers, Conner Fallon, Nick Garcia, Issac Hernandez, Jacob Myers, Pacheco, Clinton Page, Gabriel Pongasi and Cody Reno. Also contributing to the ground attack for the Senators were Craugh, Daniel Okimura, Pacheco, Quilling, Reno and Zinda.

Two players from the Senators also placed high in the NFL's Punt, Pass and Kick contest this past Saturday. Austin Pacheco and Colin McColloch took first and second respectively in their age bracket. Pacheco will represent Carson City during the regional playoff with the date and time to be determined.

Carson will return to action this Saturday at 1 p.m., when it hosts the Fallon Greenwave Green team at Governor's Field.
