Ruth Marie Upton

Ruth Marie Upton, 77, a Minden resident the past 18 years, died April 7, 2005, in Gardnerville.

A memorial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Upton was born July 29, 1927, in St. Louis to John and Opal Barnes Applebee.

Prior to living in Minden, she lived in South Lake Tahoe.

She married Richard C. Upton Sept. 8, 1947, in San Francisco. She belonged to the Republican Women's Club and Foot Printers International and was a member of High Sierra Fellowship Church.

Among her survivors are her husband of Minden; son and daughter-in-law, Richard R. and Wendy Upton of Kalispell, Mont.; grandson Andrew Upton; granddaughters Sarah and Megan Upton; great-granddaughter Emma Upton; sister, Pat Swartz; and brother, Jack Applebee.

Cremation is under the direction of FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville is in charge of arrangements.
