A celebration of life for Ernest C. Erickson, 77, a 12-year resident of Gardnerville, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gardnerville.

Mr. Erickson died Jan. 31, 2006. He was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Parkers Prairie, Minn., to John and Elsie Erickson.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Staples, Minn., where he worked as a machinist for 12 years and volunteered as a township supervisor.

He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and volunteered at the senior center on a weekly basis.

Mr. Erickson served in the U.S. Air Force.

He enjoyed gardening, bowling, and crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his brothers John, Raymond, Arnold and twin brother Elton.

Among his survivors are his wife of 52 years, Phyllis; son Richard of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law Gail and Jim Parsons of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Mary and Richard Negron of San Diego; sisters Evelyn Peterson, Esther Peterson and Alice Decker; brothers Marvin, Victor, and Glenn; and six granddaughters.

Burial will take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
