A memorial service for Earl Franklin Kleinhans, 71, an eight-year Gardnerville resident, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1480 Douglas Ave., in Gardnerville.

Mr. Kleinhans died April 30, 2006, at his home.

He was born July 29, 1934 in Romeo, Mich., to Ernest and Bertha Kleinhans.

He married Audrey Kleinhans on Aug. 25, 1956.

Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Simi Valley, Calif.

He graduated from Romeo High School.

Mr. Kleinhans worked as a retail clerk for 45 years.

He served two years in the U.S. Army and six years in the U.S. Army Reserves.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by brother Normen Kleinhans and a nephew Doug.

Among his survivors are his wife of Gardnerville; daughters and sons-in-law Earlene and Ray Shultze, Suzanne and Jim Helmer, and Lisa and Dean Whitlock; sister Florence Garret five grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Hospice Fund, 520 W. Sixth St., Reno, NV 89503.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
