M.C 'Whitey' Kipers

M.C. "Whitey" Kipers, 94, a Carson City resident for more than 35 years, died April 11, 2005, at his home. He was born Aug. 23, 1910, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to Jesse James and Lola Mae Latham Kipers.

He married Violet Kipers in Kansas.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Iowa, Kansas, Washington and then Oregon where he lived and worked until he retired in the 1960s.

Mr. Kipers worked for Carson City Senior Center Transportation for more than 15 years, was a truck driver for the logging industry and owned a fleet of trucks in the Northwest.

He was preceded in death by his wife on July 14, 2002, and son, Ronald.

Among his survivors are grandsons Kevin Ian Kipers and Kody Jordan Kipers of Reno and many nieces and nephews.

At his request, no service will be held.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
