Violet Leota Kipers, 88, a Carson City resident for the past 32 years, died July 14, 2002, at her home. She was born Dec. 19, 1913, in Burlington, Kan., to Major A. and Carrie Schnetzer Gifford.
She married Merner Kipers July 18, 1936, in Kansas.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Oregon.
Mrs. Kipers was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by son Ron in 1993.
Among her survivors are her husband Merner of Carson City and grandsons Kevin and Kody Kipers, both of Reno.
Inurnment will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
Cremation will be at Fitzhenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
