A funeral service for Dorothy Lovell, 88, a four-year resident of Carson City, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. A cryptside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., Las Vegas.

Mrs. Lovell died March 6, 2006, at the Carson Convalescent Center. She was born July 30, 1917, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Charles Luther Maloy and Carnelia Ethel Smith.

She married David W. Lovell on April 14, 1945, in Chickasha, Okla.

She attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha.

She was an accountant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a state officer in the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crafts and needlework, and maintaining contact with her widespread clan.

She was preceded in death by her husband in New Plymouth, Idaho; sister, Leota Kennedy in Fruitland, Idaho; and brother, C.L. Maloy in Florida.

She is survived by Jim and Sheilla Kily of Carson City, and several other nieces and nephews.

Entombment will be at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
