A memorial service for Ben C. Calli, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church, corner of Saliman Road and Railroad Drive, Carson City, with the Rev. Dr. Marvin B. Dennis officiating.
Mr. Calli died April 23, 2005.
He retired as lead custodian with the Carson City School District. After his retirement, he worked with his wife in Calli's Corner Antique Shop in Carson City for a number of years.
He was a a World War II veteran, having served four years as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Engineering Corps.
He took part in the D-Day Invasion of Normandy.
Among his survivors are his wife, Grayce; son and daughter-in-law Ben Michael and Kathleen; grandsons Christopher Michael and Daniel Michael; and many extended-family members friends.
