A service for Mary Fontana Marrone, 88, a Carson City resident for the past 14 years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mrs. Marrone died Aug. 15, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Feb. 3, 1917, in Weed, Calif., to Carmelo and Angelina Stella Fontana.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Panorama City, Calif.
She graduated from San Fernando, Calif., High School in 1936.
Mrs. Marrone was a homemaker. She was a Senior Regent, Women of the Moose, Chapter 1191, in San Fernando and a member of the Carson-Tahoe Hospital Auxiliary and St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Victor Jr., on June 3, 2003, in Northridge, Calif.
Among her survivors are daughter Shirley Jean Felker of Veneta, Ore.; son and daughter-in-law Ralph and Linda Marrone of Carson City; daughter-in-law Helga Marrone of Northridge; sister, Millie Stagno of North Hills, Calif.; brother, Larry Fontana of Sylmar, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.
