Funeral Mass will be said for lifetime Carson City resident Teresa Marie Carlsen, 82, at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church.
Mrs. Carlsen died Aug. 26, 2005, in Reno.
She was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Carson City to Bernard and Dominica Etchart in Carson City.
She was a graduate of Carson High School, a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church and a member of the Eagles.
She worked at the Legislative Counsel Bureau with the past Washoe County manager, Russell McDonald, and completed her work as an administrative secretary at the Public Defender's Office in Reno.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Carlsen, on May 22, 1999, and by brother Leon Etchart.
Among her survivors are her children Reggie Carlsen of Winnemucca, David Carlsen of Carson City, Barbara Smeland of Okemos, Mich., and John Carlsen of Sparks; sister Louise Cable of Sparks; sister-in-law Kathryn Etchart of Carson City; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
