Rogers honored fo Macalester soccer

Jeff Rogers, a 2003 Carson High graduate, received the Spirit Award this season for the Macalester (Minn.) men's soccer team.

The team posted a 14-5-2 record, won its seventh straight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title and earned its ninth trip to the NCAA Division III playoffs.

Rogers played center defender as the defense posted 10 shutouts on the season. His award was voted on by the players and recognizes "leadership by example." Rogers is the son of Jon and Sally Rogers.
