Kirk Joseph Strobel, 44, a Carson City resident for the past five years, died Jan. 24, 2005, in Carson City. He was born March 15, 1960, in Kaukauna, Wis., to Merle and Dolores Wendt Strobel.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Appleton, Wis.

Mr. Strobel was employed in the medical records division of the Veterans Administration.

He was a member of the Carson Valley Christian Center in Minden. He recently completed college courses in art and photography.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Oscar and Margaret Wendt, grandfather Adam Strobel and uncle Douglas Wendt.

Among his survivors are his father and stepmother, Merle and Jan Strobel of Kaukauna; mother and stepfather, Dolores and Howard Mollen of Antigo, Wis.; sister and brother-in-law, Tanya and Carl Basler of Antigo; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Sally Strobel of Greenville, Wis.; grandmother Ilene Strobel of Antigo; two nieces; and three nephews.

No local service will be held.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
