I caught all the fun up in Virginia City this Fourth of July and it was nonstop, from shopping at Bubba and Deeks to a refreshing drink at the Delta.
When you think of Virginia City, you think of the Camel Races in September or the Rocky Mountain Oyster cookoff. But there are events for everyone all summer long, like Thunder in the Canyon, which goes hand in hand with Reno's Street Vibration.
Next month, Virginia City will present Down on the Rails, and this month, it will have the Union Brewery's Virginia Poker Run, just to name a few events. To check out what is going each month, visit the Web site listed below.
This weekend you can enjoy a fun day at the Comstock at Miners Park. The Bluegrass and Old Time Music Event includes food and beverages vendors.

The fourth annual Capital Auto Insurance Golf Tournament is in August.
Each year, Jeff Creelman raises funds to help homeless children throughout Carson City. He has sent children to summer camps, purchased shoes for the needy, makes sure children who cannot afford a pair of glasses get them - these are just a few things his tournament money supports.
Last year, we had a blast with Shannon Bell and her husband, Kelly. They own Bell Tile & Marble and took the day off to support the homeless children.
If you can't golf, sponsor one of the 18 holes and help Jeff help all year long. Heather at Vital Signs also will make very cool sponsorship card holders for each of the sponsors.
