Galena softball falls against Fallon

FALLON 6, GALENA 4


The Grizzlies fell to 10-10 in the High Desert League, but have already clinched the No. 4 seed into the Northern 4A playoffs.


Alicia Kraft's two-run single gave Galena a 2-0 lead in the first. But Fallon scored three runs in the third and three runs in the fourth.


Michelle Drury tripled and scored on Kelly Drury's double in the fourth. Michelle Drury went 2-for-3.


Also for Galena, sophomore Courtney McKeon, the granddaughter of Florida Marlins manager Jack McKeon, was 2-for-4. McKeon has struck out one time all season, with her first strikeout coming on Tuesday against McQueen.


Danelle Moropolous pitched six innings for Galena. Justine Sargent came into the game in the seventh with a runner at third and no outs and got two strikeouts and a groundout to escape the jam.
