A memorial service for Donald Murray Allan, 78, a Dayton resident for the past 10 years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton.
Mr. Allan died Nov. 6, 2005, at the Evergreen Ormsby Convalescent Hospital in Carson City. He was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Chicago to James and Letitia Hill Allan.
He married Shirley Baum.
Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Van Nuys, Calif.
Mr. Allan was a test driver at the proving grounds for General Motors.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Cascade during World War II.
Among his survivors are his wife of 58 years of Dayton; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Ray Hemm of Washoe Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Scott and Marjorie of Richmond, Wash., and Daniel and Karen of Castaic, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Robert Williams of Farmington Hills, Mich., five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Family inurnment will be at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley at 2 p.m. Thursday.
