Rolland Duane Powers, 77, a 17-year Carson City resident, died Aug. 4, 2006, at home.

Mr. Powers was born Nov. 2, 1928 in Janesville, Wis., to Lionel William Powers and Meta Mortinsen.

He married Carol Joan Powers Feb. 24, 1951 in Janesville.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Powers lived in Simi Valley, Calif.

He was a maintenance mechanic and had served in the National Guard.

He enjoyed cribbage and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1990.

Among his survivors are his daughter and son-in-law Scheryl Powers-Wage and Tom Wage of Springfield, Ore.; daughter Laura Powers of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Lawrence and Elizabeth Powers of Newberry Park, Ore.; son Allan Powers of Carson City; brother and sister-in-law Ervin and Patricia Powers of Palm Springs, Calif.; brother Richard Powers of Tustin, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice Fund.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
