A funeral service for Benjamin Franklin Lazard, 90, a 20-year Carson City resident, will be at 10 a.m. June 3 at FitzHenry's Chapel of Faith. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

Mr. Lazard died May 22, 2006, at his home. He was born April 23, 1916, in Glenmora, La., to Louis L. and Eliza Rowel Lazard.

He married Katherine Zier on March 30, 1940, in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Lazard lived in Orland, Calif.

He attended schools in Glenmora, La.

He was a rancher.

He belonged to a Lutheran church in Orland, Calif.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Frank Sr. and Diane Lazard of Carson City; sons Gene Lazard of Corning, Calif., and Robert Lazard of Carson City; sister Glory Ann Lazard of Port Arthur, Texas; brother Rufus Lazard of Manteca, Calif.; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial will take place at the Janesville Cemetery in Lassen County, Calif.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 705 S. Wells Ave. #225, Reno, NV 89502 or to a charity of choice.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
