Ken Dillon, president of D & D Roofing and Sheet Metal, announced that August was a record month for the company, which completed $2.2 million in projects.

"After setting a record in June with almost similar revenue figures, we came right back in August to beat that and establish a new mark," he said.

Dillon said the company landed $1.9 million in major new projects and continues to have a steady flow of residential jobs.

The two largest new projects, at $500,000 each, are AMB properties in Hayward and San Leandro, Calif., and Prologis in Sparks. Other projects include Longs Drugs, Reno; Walgreens new stores in Fallon and northwest Reno; City Center, Carson City; Sandcreek, Fernley; Gallagher Fish Hatchery and the Family Resource Center, both in Elko.

D & D Roofing and Sheet Metal is ranked 37th on the list of the top 100 roofing companies in America. It's headquartered in Sparks and has offices in Elko, Carson City and Portola, Calif. It handles both residential and commercial roofing projects.

Luxury home builder, HomeCrafters, has announced plans for a semi-custom home, gated community in the foothills of south Reno. The Reserve at Monte Rosa will be located off of Mount Rose Highway, just east of the Thomas Creek intersection and includes the site formerly occupied by the historic Lancer restaurant.

The Reserve at Monte Rosa includes 64 home sites, an interpretive nature trail featuring life-sized bronzed animals from local artist Mike Boyce and a wildlife museum. The project officially broke ground in August of this year and is in the preliminary stages of construction. The grand opening is scheduled for July/August 2006, when the model homes will open to the public. HomeCrafters will open a sales trailer at the Monte Rosa location in early November 2005 and will begin taking reservations in December for the first limited release of eight homes.

Home sites range in size from one-third an acre to one acre, and incorporate the topography of the area to create a natural environment. Most homes will overlook the banks of Whites Creek, including views of downtown Reno, the Truckee Meadows and Mount Rose.

The Sanctuary at Monte Rosa museum will house and display a world-class, life-size collection of exotic wild sheep, ibex and other trophy animals. The museum will be owned and operated by Nevada Bighorns Unlimited.
