A reception for Daniel B. Elder, 57, will be at noon Oct. 8 at the Shriners Temple, 4935 Energy Way, Reno.
Mr. Elder died Sept. 25, 2005, at Regent Care Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1947, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to George and Mabel Elder.
Mr. Elder worked for Consolidated Freightways, Mountain Bell and retired from Nevada Bell after 25 years. He enjoyed jogging, exercising, football games and activities with his sons. He was a Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed the music of Gordon Lightfoot.
He served in the U.S. Army in during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Among his survivors are his wife, Patti; sons Brian and John of Reno; mother, sister and brother-in-law Dona and Bob McGowan, all of Lewiston, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law Dave and Caroline of Baton Rouge, La., and many nieces and nephews.
