A Carson City man was in custody Wednesday, charged in a drunken driving accident Tuesday night that injured three.
Cleofas Picazo-Raudales, 24, of Carson City, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving, driving without insurance and a seat belt violation.
According to Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Chuck Allen, Cody Farcello, 29, of Carson City, was stopped partly on the shoulder and partly in the slow westbound lane in his truck with the headlights off about 8:30 p.m. on Highway 50 East in front of Mills Park when Picazo-Raudales struck the rear of Farcello's pickup.
Farcello's passenger, Robert Beattie, 39, was transported to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Picazo-Raudales and passenger Naranjo Augustin Medina, 26, were both taken by helicopter to Washoe Medical Center with moderate injuries, Allen said. A preliminary breath examination revealed Picazo-Raudales was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, he said.
Farcello is considered to be at fault in the accident and a citation will likely be issued to him for illegal parking on a highway and light violations.
Picazo-Raudales is being held on $1,000 bail.
